Classes
Learn to Work With Clay
Semester
Learn the skills needed to transform a lump of clay into a bowl or cup that you can use at home! All levels are welcome. Each season we offer a multi-week class session, allowing time to teach you all the steps and get in both firings. Classes meet once a week for 3 hours.
While our classes are primarily taught on electric wheels, all of our teachers are skilled handbuilders and offer handbuilding instruction as needed. On the potters wheel we will teach you how to center, form shapes, trim and finish pots. And for the REALLY adventurous, we can combine wheel and handbuilding! Everyone, both wheel and handbuilders, will also learn about decorating and glazing their work.

At Earthworks, we take great care in crafting and finishing each piece of pottery. However, due to variations in raw materials, chemical availability, and supply chain fluctuations, glazes may not always appear exactly as expected. These natural variations are part of the handmade process and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.
Additionally, while we follow best practices in kiln firing, unforeseen kiln or glaze issues can occasionally occur. As such, we do not offer refunds or replacements for pottery affected by glaze outcomes or kiln-related imperfections.
Missed Classes
Missed classes will be compensated with 3 hours of free Benchtime. This make-up time must be used by the end of the current semester; it will not carry over to the next semester.
Benchtime
Benchtime is uninstructed practice time in the studio for registered students only.
